Acting

Private coaching is an invaluable tool that can take your career to the next level.

Kirsten Hawson offers private acting coaching for those who are serious about honing their craft. A private coaching session will give you the extra boost you need to feel confident that you are producing your best work; nothing is better than rehearsing with proper guidance and getting the text on its feet.

In a private session, you will be guided through many stages from opening your voice to analysing text to preparing your material. You will break down your sides and/or scripts in depth. You will make specific and bold choices that will allow you to bring the character to life. Actors will form their own "toolbox" and develop a comprehensive set of “acting tools” to prepare them for auditions and working in rehearsals/on set.

Actors are encouraged to explore, take chances, and have fun when approaching a role or a scene whether it be for film, television or theatre. For the first lesson, it is helpful for the student to bring their own material.

Having extensive involvement with drama and music schools as well as film/TV/Theatre companies around the world, I offer specialised coaching to help clients prepare for any manner of audition.

Former students on a full or partial scholarship at such schools as Berklee College of Music (Boston), NYU Tisch School of the Arts (NYC), Humber College (Toronto), AMDA (Los Angeles) The Randolph Academy of Performing Arts (Toronto), Grant MacEwan University and the BFA program at UofA (Edmonton), Studio 58 (Vancouver), NIDA (Sydney, Australia), and The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (UK) and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Glasgow, Scotland) to name but a few.

Also on offer is one-off audition coaching for film, TV and theatre. Some of my previous acting clients are currently working on the sets of iZombie (CW Network), When Calls The Heart (Hallmark Channel), Riverdale (CW Network) and Supergirl (CW Network/CBS). Current clients are working on Billy the Kid (Epix (I)/MGM) and The Boys (Prime Video).
